United!

Today we say goodbye to our Freestyle girls (16) - Aleisha, Alana and Jess - who've been coming to the surf school over the winter for some on the job training. It's been interesting watching them develop and grow as individuals. I hope they leave feeling more confident in themselves and their abilities. They're not really into the surfing, but I'm sure careers in other industries await. We wish them all the best.

Surf's Up! Elite - Competition News

Max Payne with Spencer Hargraves after Welsh Open

The Surf's Up! Elite Squad have been at it again... Max Payne had a successful Easter weekend up in Wales in the Quiksilver Welsh National championships. He won the Under 14 and Under 16 titles, and came 3rd in the Under 18s, just missing out on the Triple Crown. He dominated the weekend against their highest ever nationals entry, and it was made all the more sweet as it was in front of his sponsors, the Quiksilver gang, who did the judging and presentation (including Spencer just back from Oz). Big Congrats to him.

Max Payne and Liam Murray - have qualified for the Volcom European finals, so this week they're all heading off to Biarritz to compete against Europes best under 16 surfers. A tough call, but should be great experience for them both. The squad also includes Surf's Up! Elite riders Harry Timson and Tom Good so the UK has a great little team heading down to the south of France for the May day bank holiday. Best of luck to them all.

ps. Liam has a couple of boards for sale - Black and White, VGC, 5'8 x 18 - £220 and a Bunty, VGC, 5'10 x 19 - £220. Both worth a look!

pps surf 2ft, sweet as.

Wadebridge Champs

Wadebridge u12's won the Cornish Premier League yesterday with a 3 -1 win over fierce rivals Falmouth. Billy scored two and was awarded Man of the Match - he did good. As did they all. A hard fought game in which every player did their thing. Really tough league to win.

Surf today - overhead, wind from the north.

Cat's out of the Bag

Here's Liam this morning catching a sweet one during Kelly Training.

Yes, yes, yes! Cat's out of the bag. PM David Cameron's kids did come for a surf lesson with us earlier in the week. Happy now! No fuss, just booked in and arrived like anyone else. I like that. He's a bit of a dude as it goes. And no, they didn't hang No.10! A jolly good egg.... which reminds me, where's my Easter one.
